Italtel,
a multinational corporation specializing in Network Functions
Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN) and All-IP
communications, today announced it has joined the Hewlett Packard
Enterprise (HPE) OpenNFV Partner Program as an official Application
Partner to help Communications Service Providers (CSPs) launch new
services faster, easier and more cost-effectively through the
virtualization of their network functions.
The
HPE OpenNFV Program provides an open, standards-based NFV reference
architecture, offering CSPs ready-to-deploy solutions that can enable
the transformation from legacy networks to NFV.
By
joining this partner ecosystem, Italtel is able to conduct testing,
characterization and validation of the new edition of its proprietary
Session Border Controller (SBC) - the NetMatch-S Cloud Inside Edition -
using the HPE OpenNFV infrastructure stack. The innovative software
architecture of the SBC's Virtual Network Functions (VNF) is based on
ETSI NFV standards and leverages "cloud-design" patterns. The new
edition of the product introduces significant enhancements which provide
quick elasticity, resilience and high performance for media and
signaling handling. The Italtel approach offers an effective solution to
the need for flexibility and agility in Service Providers' networks.
"Joining
the HPE OpenNFV Program enables us to demonstrate the capabilities of
our virtualized network functions in an open multi-vendor environment,"
said Federico Descalzo, VP Chief Marketing and Technology Officer at
Italtel. "There is great value in close collaboration with the HPE
OpenNFV community. Italtel will take advantage of this partnership
program in order to provide NFV solutions that can be quickly and easily
delivered in telcos' network, reaching significant objectives in terms
of operational efficiency and business agility."
"Collaborating
with corporations such as Italtel is what makes our OpenNFV Partner
Program so unique," said Werner Schaefer, VP Sales & GTM,
Communications Solutions Business, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
"Through our global partnerships such as this, we are able to continue
to provide Communications Service Providers from around the world with
validated NFV solutions for faster service deployments that keep up with
the demands of their customers."
