Nexenta,
the global leader in Software-Defined Storage (SDS), today announced that NexentaStor,
Nexenta's award-winning software-defined storage platform, has been
verified as part of the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity Program Verified for
Citrix XenDesktop. The Citrix Ready VDI Capacity program is designed
specifically to address the storage needs of customers who already have
or are thinking about implementing VDI using XenDesktop.
VDI presents multiple types of data, each with its own unique
requirements to the storage infrastructure tier. Storage in turn can
cope with these requirements using various hardware and software-based
approaches, some of which can be combined into hybrid solutions.
The Citrix Ready VDI Capacity program helps guide customers regarding
VDI storage needs. The program enables Citrix storage partners to test
their solutions against a turnkey "VDI Capacity" test environment that
contains the necessary compute resources needed to generate a 750-user
reference XenDesktop deployment, and thus demonstrating the appropriate
amount of storage performance and capacity with a cost-efficient design.
Partners whose technology satisfies the test criteria are determined to
be verified as part of the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity Program Verified
for 750 users.
"Nexenta has satisfactorily completed the testing requirements to join
the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity program," said Greg Fox, director, Citrix
Ready program at Citrix. "Through this program, we are working with our
storage partners to help provide our joint customers with guidance in
choosing storage solutions for their XenDesktop VDI deployments. By
taking part in the program, Nexenta is helping customers make informed
product purchasing decisions."
"As a member of the Citrix Ready program, we are able to offer customers
intelligent and cost-efficient storage solutions with Citrix XenDesktop.
Storage can stall VDI deployments, and the VDI Capacity analysis is
validation that NexentaStor
adds a great deal of value to VDI environments," said Jill Orhun,
Vice President of Marketing, Nexenta. "Passing the rigorous testing
program, clearly demonstrates our company's and technology's ability to
work closely with trusted partners like Citrix, and help our joint
customers extend the performance and ROI benefits that VDI has to offer."
